Transfer students' paths to joining Army ROTC vary a little and it all depends on how many semesters they have remaining once they transfer to the university and factor in the 21 Military Science credit hours (18 Military Science + 3 History Department). *Basic training can give constructive credit for the first 6 credit hours.
Students who transfer in with 6 semesters remaining take both the Military Science I and II classes simultaneously so they get two years worth of work done in one year's time frame. The Military Science I classes are 1 credit hour each semester and the Military Science II classes are 2 credit hours each semester.
Students who transfer in with 4 or 5 semesters remaining must attend the Basic Camp (BC). Basic Camp is a 28-day outcome-driven event which trains and educates Cadets on basic military skills from individual tasks to squad level and continues to build a foundation to establish the critical thinking skills necessary to become a US Army Officer. The BC program provides a common developmental experience for all Cadets—generally following the freshman year—as a requirement for Lateral Entry (LE),
Scholarships and financial incentives are available to transfer students who participate in the Army ROTC Program.
